Confederation of Rightholders’ Societies of Europe and Asia has received the official registration

Confederation of Rightholders’ Societies of Europe and Asia (CRSEA) has received the official registration on August 25th, 2017. The relevant information has been submitted by the Ministry of Justice to the State register of legal entities.

CRSEA is an international non-governmental organization that unites leading national collective societies of various categories of rightholders of Eurasian Economic Union and CIS.

The decision to establish CRSEA was made at the end of May 2017 in Minsk during the founding conference, attended by representatives of leading authors’ societies from Russia, Belorussia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan.

“CRSEA gives the opportunity to consolidate the best practices and experience of leading authors’ societies, to build and strengthen the sphere of collective management of rights in member countries of EEU, CIS and in other regions” – said Ismail Mammadkarimov, Director General of CRSEA, Chairman of Azerbaijan Authors’ Society. – At the same time, the main objective for the Confederation is to enhance the activity of each member organization by introducing new effective standards of work, developing data exchange process and technical support, raising the transparency and openness to the rightholders.”

A large-scale analysis of the activity of each member-organization has been conducted and key aspects for modernization were outlined since the Confederation was founded. One of the priority tasks that CRSEA intends to solve is to introduce the automation for all key processes of the societies. Thus, a special software upgrading the distribution of authors’ remunerations has already been developed.

“In our work we try to follow the development of digital technologies and new ways of data transmission” – said Andrei Krichevsky, Secretary General of CRSEA, Director General of Russian Union of Rightholders and Russian Organization for Intellectual Property (VOIS). – That is why all members of CRSEA have already started to implement new software that automates the distribution of remuneration. The software is adopted in Russian societies and has proved its efficiency. We expect to accomplish the integration of the products in other member-organizations shortly.”

CRSEA will introduce the collection and distribution system “Hypergraph”. This unique technological solution has been specially created for the organizations for collective management of authors’ and neighboring rights.

The founders of CRSEA are: Russian Authors’ Society, Russian Organization for Intellectual Property, Russian Union of Rightholders, Partnership on the protection and management of rights in the sphere of arts, Kazakh Society for the rights management of intellectual property, Kazakh Authors’ Society, Non-governmental association “Belarusian society of authors, performers and other rightholders”, National Centre for Intellectual Property of the Republic of Belarus, Non-governmental organization for the management of authors’ and neighbouring rights “Armauthor” (Armenia), State service for intellectual property and innovation of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic (Kyrgyzpatent), non-governmental association “Azerbaijan Authors’ Society”.
