Kazakhstan proposes to create a Council for the development of the digital economy in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO)

Within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), it is necessary to create a Council for the development of the digital economy, said The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin.

According to him, the Council could become a platform for the introduction of new technologies, including 5G networks, Smart City, Big Data, blockchain and many others.

The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan also called on his SCO colleagues to use the capabilities of the center for the development of “green” technologies and investment projects in Nur-Sultan.

On November 2, Tashkent hosted the 18th meeting of the Council of State Leaders of the SCO member states. The participants discussed the prospects for trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation, and existing cooperation in trade, investment, digitalization, etc. Today, 8 countries are member states of the organization – Russia, Kazakhstan, India, Kyrgyzstan, China, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
