Activity

Public Association “Holders of copyright and related rights of Uzbekistan” is a non-profit public organization for collective management of property rights of authors, composers, performers, producers of phonograms and other rights holders of Uzbekistan.

The main functions of the Company are the collection, distribution and payment of collected remuneration for various types and methods of using works and phonograms.

Representation of interests and protection of rights of Uzbek copyright holders on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan and all countries of the world.

Powers for collective management of property rights are granted directly by the right holders voluntarily on the basis of written agreements, as well as under relevant agreements with other (including foreign) organizations that manage property rights.

The author or other right holder has the right to grant the Company, under the contract, the authority to exercise their property rights, and the Company is obliged to assume the exercise of these rights on a collective basis. In accordance with the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “on copyright and related rights”, an author or other right holder has the right to grant authority to exercise their property rights or the rights of only one organization that manages property rights on a collective basis to the corresponding category of rights holders.

Based on the powers received from the copyright holders, the Company enters into contracts with users for the use of works and objects of related rights. The terms of contracts are the same for all users of the same category, determined depending on the type and volume of works used and objects of related rights. The company does not have the right to refuse to conclude a contract with the user without sufficient grounds. Such agreements allow the use of all works and objects of related rights in the ways provided for in them and are provided on behalf of and in the interests of all copyright holders, including those who have not transferred authority to the organization in accordance with the law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “on copyright and related rights”. All possible property claims of copyright holders against users related to the use of their works and objects of related rights on the basis of such agreements must be settled by the organization that concluded the agreements and manages property rights on a collective basis.

The company provides assistance to authors and other copyright holders in transferring rights to use works of science, literature and art and objects of related rights on an individual basis.
