The first meeting of CRSEA committee on copyright, related rights and private copying was opened

On November 30 was organized the first meeting of CRSEA committee on copyright, related rights and private copying. Committee on copyright, related rights and private copying is one of three committees established on the last meeting of the General Assembly of the Confederation of Rightholders’ Societies of Europe and Asia. Earlier began its work the committee on informational technology. Work of CRSEA committees became a new step in CRSEA history with an aim of uniting all CRSEA organizations-members in order to solve problems in the sphere of copyright, related rights and private copying on the territory of countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, the Commonwealth of Independent States, BRICS countries and other states.

Representatives of the organizations – CRSEA members became the participants of the committee on copyright, related rights and private copying.

Panel discussion connected with the committee program for the next year roused a keen response. Everybody bought the idea of analyzing legal landscape of all CRSEA organizations-members in order to identify problems. Also analysis allows Committee members to find out correlation between general and private problems, understand its reason. It is necessary to understand if the territorial belonging or general questions connected with copyright, related rights and private copying for whatever development of the sphere become the basis of difficult situations. Signification the character of all problems will afford the opportunity to not only exchange the experience of their solving but also consolidate efforts to clear legal and regulatory hoops.

At the same time during the meeting were raised questions connected with audit of the societies of the collective management of rights, experience exchange in the sphere of copyright, related rights and private copying, for example discussing such topics as remuneration collect, that realized not only on the territories of CRSEA members, but also in the whole world. At the end of the discussion came up with the idea of analyzing situation that deals with regulation of cross-boundary broadcasting.

The next meeting of the committee is planned for March 2021.
