The Turkish copyright societies are ready to join the Confederation of Rightholders’ Societies of Europe and Asia (CRSEA), which already includes organizations for the collective management of copyright from Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Armenia.
“A number of copyright and neighbouring rights management societies from countries that are not yet members of the Confederation are planning to join the Confederation. In particular, the representatives of the Turkish delegation expressed their intention to integrate the Turkish copyright societies MESAM and MSG into CRSEA”, – said Andrey Krichevskiy, General Secretary of CRSEA.
According to Ismail Mammadkarimov, General Director of CRSEA, there are currently about nine specialized organizations in Turkey. “More than half of them have already expressed their interest in integrating into the work of CRSEA. It is important that the decision has been approved by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, whose representative participated in the meeting of the Assembly of the Confederation”, he pointed out.
Representatives of Turkey wish to adapt Russian technological solutions and software to the needs of the national intellectual property sphere. In particular, it concerns the integration of the new Hypergraph software suite for copyright and neighbouring rights collective management organizations. The Turkish partners are also interested in implementing FONMIX, a service for legal background broadcasting, which allows remote management of music, advertising and information policy in catering, service and trade enterprises.
The Turkish side also intends to become a partner of the IPChain Association and to initiate the implementation of the international IPChain trust infrastructure in Turkey, which is being implemented by the National Intellectual Property Transactions Coordination Center.
The Confederation of Rightholders’ Societies of Europe and Asia (CRSEA) is an international non-governmental organization composed of leading national societies engaged in the management of various categories of copyright and/or neoghbouring rights. Since April 2018, CRSEA has been a member of the international organization “Assembly of Peoples of Eurasia”, and in June it became an associate member of the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC).
