Intellectual Property Agency under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Public Association of Copyright and Related Rights Holders of Uzbekistan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of social partnership

CRSEA member, Public Association «Holders of copyright and related rights of Uzbekistan», and Intellectual Property Agency under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of social partnership. The main aim of cooperation – advance the role of the legal protection of the copyright and associated rights on objects.

Signed document became a result of continuous co-operation of two organizations which work was aimed at the process of finding answers to the key problems in the sphere of intellectual property. Short-range plans include such areas of cooperation as promotion of the legal awareness and respect for the copyright and associated rights on objects, organization of educational seminars, practical courses and other events. Also an important role in their work play collective creation and publication of guidance notes.

Nowadays Public Association «Holders of copyright and related rights of Uzbekistan» and Intellectual Property Agency under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan continue their outreach activities with the owners of cafes, restaurants, bars in order to explain them the importance of copyright compliance. Signers remind them that it is necessary to conclude a contract with the Public Association of Copyright and Related Rights Holders of Uzbekistan that will allow them reproduction of different musical works.

As for the plans, in December the Public Association of Copyright and Related Rights Holders of Uzbekistan will organize panel discussion on the collective management of copyright and related rights. It is expected that the Confederation of Rightholders’ Societies of Europe and Asia and international experts can take place in this event in order to share their expert commentaries on the mentioned topic.
