IPChain Association and Intellectual Property Office of Singapore agree to cooperate

On the margins of the Moscow International Forum for Innovative Development “Open Innovations”, which is being held these days in Skolkovo, negotiations were held between the management of the IPChain Association (National Coordination Center for Processing Transactions with Rights and Objects of Intellectual Property) and the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS).

Andrey Krichevskiy, President of the IPChain Association, noted: “As you know, Singapore has in a short period of time reached a record growth rate of the economy, focusing on the development of electronic technologies, IT, as well as on creating a favourable investment climate. Of course, we are interested in strategic cooperation with the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore, as the IPChain project, a distributed registry based on blockchain technology, is, first of all, the construction of an international “trust infrastructure”. We are open to mutual exchange and replication of best practices in implementing innovative tools for effective management, storage and protection of intellectual property items”.

In turn, Daren Tang, Head of IPOS, noted the great potential for the development of bilateral relations in the field of intellectual property. “For the time being I am just forming an idea of the state of the intellectual property market in Russia. But my first impression is that this is a fantastic environment, Russia has great potential in technology and engineering. As for IPChain, we are interested in the Association’s technical tools and services, its expansion plans and investment opportunities”, Daren Tang said.

Mr. Tang also invited the leadership of the IPChain Association to visit Singapore to learn about technological opportunities for intellectual property development. Andrey Krichevskiy expressed confidence that the partnership with Singapore will be mutually interesting and fruitful.
